What’s New Year?

VITEEE 2026 Revised Marking Scheme:

Here’s the new scoreboard:

  • +4 marks for every correct answer (previously +1)
  • -1 mark for every incorrect answer (yes, negative marking for the first time!)
  • Total marks: 500
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • 125 questions, as usual (no change in count)
Section-wise breakup:
  • Maths Stream (MPCEA): Maths 40 I Physics 35 I Chemistry 35 I Aptitude 10 I English 5
  • Biology Stream (BPCEA): Biology 40 instead of Maths

Eligibility criteria B.Tech 2026-27 Admissions:

  • PCMB/PCM applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE 2026 with 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 50% in Mathematics in +2/HSC/Intermediate examination are eligible for admission to all B. Tech Programmes.
  • PCMB/PCB applicants who have attempted Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (BPCEA) in VITEEE 2026 or PCB applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE 2026 with 60% aggregate marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 50% in Biology in +2/HSC/Intermediate examination are eligible for admission to the following programmes only.
  • B.Tech. Biotechnology (VIT-Vellore & VIT-Chennai)
  • B.Tech. Computer Science and Engg. (Bioinformatics), (VIT – Vellore)
  • B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engg. (Biomedical Engineering), (VIT – Vellore)
  • B.Tech. Health Sciences and Technology (VIT – Vellore)
  • B.Tech. Bioengineering (VIT – Bhopal)

  • B. Tech in cyber security (2+2 with Deakin University, Australia) blending international exposure with advanced digital defence. Through this dual degree, students will begin their studies at VIT Chennai, gaining strong foundations in computer science, network security, and data protection, before progressing to Deakin University, Australia, to complete advanced coursework and research in cybersecurity systems, governance, and digital forensics.

  • B. Tech in Quantum Computing: Preparing students for the next frontier in computing. It combines core computer science foundations like programming, algorithms, data structures, and AI, with advanced quantum concepts such as quantum mechanics, algorithms, cryptography, and machine learning.
