This initiative not only propels ground-breaking research but also nurtures the development of start-ups rooted in PhD research, bridging the gap between academic excellence and entrepreneurial success. Through this program, VIT is forging new paths for visionary innovators. This Deep Tech Research Program by VIT is an initiative to foster cutting-edge research and innovation in transformative technologies through Chancellor’s Fellowship.
Objectives of Deep Tech Research Program:
- Creating ventures that build solutions to biggest critical or societal challenges through its technological advancement.
- Adhering to TRL 5 (Technology Readiness Level) as established by NASA to ensure that the innovations are tested and validated, paving the way for real-world applications.
- Assist students in creating patent registrations under VIT banner, including all the funding supported by the institution.
- Building advanced technologies in the areas of quantum science and nanotechnology work for people at the grassroots’ level.
- Core supervisors from the industry will guide the students.
- Significantly increase the quality and quantity of research and innovation, by shaping the future of technology and making considerable contributions to various fields and industries.

Eligibility:
Graduates with an outstanding academic record in their Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology are eligible to apply. A minimum of 75% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 is mandatory on a 10- point scale in the relevant discipline for all the years and semesters. Additionally, qualifications like M.Sc. (Engineering) / M.S. (by research) / M.Tech (by research) in a full-time and regular mode of education is mandatory.

Apart from VITREE entrance exam, students will have to give a separate entrance exam and interview for this program. Separate SOP’s will be collected, where there will focus on tech area, including venture based research and innovation. VIT will provide support to at least 100 students in their entrepreneurial journey
